He makes an important point - quality varies from physician to physician.

I agree that internet information is basically a good thing, but there's a difference between objective or semi-objective assessments and surveys of patient reactions and an extended rant about about a physician - who may be quite competent but loathed by an angry patient - as a murderer. In addition to injuring the physician - not by real "information" but by a rant, it will be disturbing folks who are seeing that physician.

The best "defense" against rants is probably a respected system that provides meaningful quality information. If I make a product that is well reviewed in Consumer Reports, I'm relatively protected from a rant.

Best

JimJim Sabinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087828142188534542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7476621888383604834.post-75825555265196448932013-04-09T16:47:17.291-04:002013-04-09T16:47:17.291-04:00I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who made the observa...I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who made the observation that in every medical school class, some doctor finished last. And tomorrow, someone has an appointment with him or her.

Pre-internet, short of an acquaintance that may have used him/her, we had no way of knowing who are the good doctors and who are the less than good doctors. Doctors had better step up their game; we're no longer in the dark.Jim Caputohttp://www.jimcaputo.comnoreply@blogger.com
